Recycle Toy!

We keep learning about what we can do to take care of the environment, and here is our “Recycle toy”. We have thought different names for our experiment such as “magic ball” “plastic toy” or “Meatball”.


And although we know how agressive plastic straws are for our planet, we are going to be responsible with  the use of them.

FIESTA CIENTÍFICA

"FIESTA CIENTIFICA" was the name of our Cultural week ´19, it has been a great week, with a lot of activities with several interesting aspects for our kids; such as...


"Science Fair"

During the whole week our mates from Primary Ed. have performed their experiments!
Awesome experiments!!


Each level was divided into 5 groups, 5 Scientist:

1. Marie Curie
2. Ramón y Cajal
3. Gabriela Monreale
4. Dmitri Mendeléyev
5. Elena García Armada

It was great to see how all the students from Primary Education cared about the littlest ones, they were really motivated and proud of their experiment´s projects.

La semana cultural de este año ha tratado sobre la ciencia, "FIESTA CIENTÍFICA", ha sido muy interesante por varios motivos entre ellos, el acercamiento a la ciencia, la motivación por adquirir nuevos conocimientos. Hemos aprendido un montón de nuestr@s compañer@s de Primaria con sus Super Experimentos!! 

Esta fue la decoración de la Science Fair, la visitamos cada día de la semana para ver a nuestros compañeros de Primaria exponer:

Every class performed their experiments, being both, speakers and assistants, dividing them into A´s and B´s groups.

Escape Room, exposition of Women in the Science with QR Code!, are some of the activities that took place along the Cultural week.

WORKSHOPS WITH FAMILIES
TALLERES CON FAMILIAS

Durante la semana cultural sobre la ciencia pudimos disfrutar de la colaboración de algunas familias que vinieron a clase a hacer talleres sobre diferentes temáticas:

En el taller dental aprendimos cómo cepillarnos los dientes y lo que algunos alimentos pueden hacer en ellos.

En el taller sobre óptica descubrimos que la luz no es blanca como nos parecía, sino que está compuesta por 7 colores, vimos el resultado de mezclar algunos colores, la direccionalidad de la luz cuando pasa por el agua, hologramas,... ¡y un montón de cosas súper interesantes!

Y en el taller de energía renovable aprendimos cómo generar energía gracias a la fuerza del aire o del agua, hicimos un molinillo de viento y nos quedamos con un molino que funciona con una placa solar para ver cómo funciona en un día soleado.

Y por último, el taller termocrómicos. 

Aunque no fueron los únicos talleres... pudimos disfrutar también de un taller magnético y de difracción, y otro sobre una lupa.

Can you undo water pollution?

This activity was a HUGE hit! Although it's pretty smelly and yucky too.  But of course that's the goal. We used:
- clean bin of water
- animal toys 
- tongs 
-garbage 

After watching some videos of how agressive is when garbage gets to the oceans, we fille a clean bin of water, along side it was a tray that held tongs, a strainer, oil (representing toxins), and several pieces of garbage.  The kiddos put all of the garbage and oil in the water, and then we pick it up, however, we could see that water wasn´t totally clean, after it.

CONCLUSION:

Water pollution is much easier to create than it is to clean up.

Hola, de nuevo!!!

¡¡Todavía no habíamos vuelto tras la entrada de año!! 

¡¡Pero aquí estamos, con muchas ganas y empezando un nuevo proyecto muy chulo!!

Comenzamos el trimestre con el cuento "Why the animals came to town" de Michael Foreman, para introducir el cambio climático y como lo sufren los animales.

A lo largo de este proyecto aprenderemos a cuidar el medio ambiente, a adquirir pequeños hábitos que ayudan a mejorar el cuidado de este.
